 Volunteers

Volunteers are the backbone of any type of sporting event. We anticipate that we will have up to 75  volunteers performing many duties to ensure the safety and enjoyment of both runners and the general public. The Banff Jasper Relay uses the roadways going north from Banff along the Bow Valley Parkway and Icefield Parkway to Jasper.

As a volunteer you will receive a "race crew" tee shirt and an invitation to join the runners and all the other volunteers at the awards dinner. All on-course volunteers will be provided with safety vests to be returned to your Station/Crew Chief before you leave.

Some of you come out and manage a particular station, if you'd like to continue doing that - just note that in the comments section of the Volunteer Registration form, and we'll be sure to accommodate your preference.

You will be contacted well before the Relay and given a choice of assignments. The Volunteer Coordinator will do their best to ensure you have a great Banff Jasper Relay experience.

 LeapFrog!!

We are working on having fewer volunteers, and utilizing their time more effectively by having them "leapfrog" the runners, and man more than one exchange point.

People that volunteer for this assignment would be busy all day, and our intention is to provide accommodation in Jasper (4 people / room) for those that volunteer for a LEAPFROG assignment.

If you are interested in being part of a leapfrog team, just put LEAPFROG in the comments box of the Volunteer Registration form.
