All you need to know is in The Captain's Manual, please read it to ensure there are no surprises on Race Day!

 Race Day Logistics 

Being a team Captain is a big responsibility - but with a bit of planning your Banff Jasper Relay experience can be a great one for you and your team. 

Long Term Planning:

  • Book Accomodation in or close to the Lake Louise Inn on Friday evening before the race for the South Phase runners.
  • Book accomodation for the North Phase Runners at The Crossing for Friday night for your North Phase Runners.
  • Book accomodation in Jasper at the Jasper Inn for Saturday night for the whole team.
  • Plan to be in Lake Louise Alberta by 4:00 PM on the Friday before the race, with your North Phase Team Captain.
  • If you are flying to the Relay, books your flights to arrive in Calgary Friday at noon and rent 2 vans - one for each Phase.

Friday Night Race Weekend:

  • 6:00 PM:
    • Team Captains (North and South) attend the Wildlife Update at the Lake Louise Inn at 6:00 PM.  Please note that this is a mandatory meeting - it's part of our permit requirements to hold this event in Canada's National Parks. 
  • North Team Captain drives to The Crossing.
  • Get some zzzz

Race Day:

  • South Runners:
    • Drive east on Highway 1 to Castle Junction - the south Phase Start by 6:30 AM.
    • Get your Stage 2 Runners on the bus for transport to their stage
  • North Runners:
    • Be at the Crossing at 6:00 AM to get your race numbers

The Race Starts at 7:00 AM

 

 Race Day Waiver 
 
This is the hard copy waiver that is only required in these two instances:


1. Your runner is under the age of 18 on race day (minimum age is 16 years of age on race day).
2. Your runner hasn't registered on line as of race day (last minute - race day substitution)

Friday at 6:00 PM
Mandatory Captain's Meeting in Lake Louise at the Lake Louise Inn

Saturday: 
At Castle Junction:
6:30 AM - Be at the Starting Area
6:45 AM - S2 Runners Board the Shuttle Bus
7:00 AM South Phase 1 Start at Castle Junction

At the Crossing, North Phase Start
:

6:00 AM Sign in at the Crossing Cafeteria 
7:00 AM Phase 2 Saskatchewan River Crossing Start

In Jasper 6:00 - Midnight
Dinner Served from 6:00 - 8:00 PM (have your tickets!)
